Man can I relate to this I have seen the idiot next door punch his pit in the head as he yanked on the chain. No wonder the dog is so aggressive The video is a great idea. After all of our dog issues, we set up a vid. camera in one of our gameroom windows pointed at the fence we share and their BY. They can see it if they look at our window, as we made 0 effort to hide it, we wanted them to know we were taping Hope ya'll can get someting done quickly!

I had a friend and the people next door didn't do things like that, but would leave him in 100 degree heat and no water, chained to a tree all day long. She waited until no one was there and took him. He is fat and happy at her Mom's house now. She didn't wait...she just took matters into her own hand. Just an idea.

I vote for the video!
You can show Animal Control the video, and then, when they have seen the abuse they will have the proof they will need to do something...
If they still don't want to do anything, casually mention to them that you will be calling channel 5, 9, 11, 13 (or 2,4,7) to show them the video and then nicely ask them again for their help. I believe the person will call their supervisor, and perhaps then you will get your desired result. If they don't do anything...e-mail or call the TV stations and tell them the story...That should work...

The one neighbor (not the LAPD Officer) Is my wifes good friend. I mentioned the video to her this morning. She said they had discussed it, but she was to scarred to jump up on the fence to do it. The media idea is good too, thats what Joanne is trying to get to through this doggy news letter. Get some folks who know exactly who to call to make something happen through that kind of medium.
The more I think about it...the more I try to rationalize the Commando approach. Just don't want to go to jail or get shot I know there's like 4+ residents in the house (college age kids). So window of opportunity timing wise might be slim for a grab.

Do the video. Don't lower yourself to doing anything illegal, as in stealing the dog. Who knows.... the dog could disappear and end up in an even worse situation.

Just my two cents....

If no one is willing to come forward as an actual witness, because of valid fear of the people doing the violence, there is no case for the animal control. You cannot proscute someone without a witness to the crime that will come forward in court. You have to understand that in court if no one saw the crime or is willing to come forward in the case people would be proscuted for crimes that are not true. It seems unfair but there are people out there that will turn in enemys, ex's etc for things that cannot be proven. Continual calls to the police or animal control will help. People like these do not want police at their door every day.

I hear ya Karen, just frustrating. I won't cross the line, it is tempting though.

Well, we have 2 witnesses who would testify if needed, one an LAPD Officer. As I mentioned AC did go by yesterday morn. But left without the dog. We'll keep the screws on them. I like the media idea.

Not sure if this suggestion was mentioned....I've seen alot of people in the newspaper telling their stories to get the public's attention about certain matters....Call the paper tell them you have a story about the AC not taking action.....It might work...

Just do it and have the tape...that way you are doing a rescue and have it on file. Chances are...you will keep it, they do know who looks out for them and who does not. Either way, it is better than the puppy is at this point.
