Sad Dog Story...need ideas please.

This just happened in our neighborhood. We got wind of it from one of the witnesses, who's an LAPD Officer.

So Joanne contacted a friend who runs a dog newsletter for the Long Beach area. She has already received numerous responses. The goal is to get the pup away from these idiots before permanent damage is done

If anyone has any ideas, please either let me know here or E-mail Joanne. The Animal Control finally came today, stayed for 15 mins, but left without the pup. So the fights' still on. Any ideas are appreciated on how to handle the situation.

A campaign of continuous harrassment sounds appropriate. Contact the other neighbors and have them all repeated place calls in to the authorities. I'm surprized the LAPD neighbor is unable to pull some strings.
If it were me, I would try to steal it....but that's just me.

What kind of small minded SOB do you have to be to beat a dog!!????

Let's beat them with a chain and see how they like it. The poor animal is completely defenseless and does not understand why this is happening to him. Hell, I don't understand it. Oh, I am so effin' pissed now!

I thought so too with the Officer. She heard it happening over the fence, looked over and yelled to the guy "WTF are you doing", the guy didn't say anything, just glared at her.
She might have done something else, cause they did show up today. I agree, I'd like to do one of 2 things. Either rescue the dog, or rescue the dog and whoop some butt. Trying to be legal though. We're putting this out there in the hopes that someone might now who CAN do something about it, seeing Animal Control couldn't, without physically seeing it happen.

I would definately steal the dog....but what to do with it afterwards? People are just so sick these days....

I'd steal the puppy too. I tell you, if my hubby witnessed this, he'd go at them with his long-handled pipe wrench and take that dog from them. Not many guys will go up against a big, bald, tatoo-ed, crazy-eyed, yelling, swearing guy with a 4 ft cast iron pipe wrench in his hand...shall I send him down??

We'd like to do it the Legal way if possible. I'm sure there's a way.

Video tape it. Then if the animal control still doesn't do anything tell them your giving the tape to the tv news.

There's been some terrible pet abuse stories around here lately. They just arrested a guy for tieing cats out in the woods as bait for coyotes.

I think this is a great idea! And every single time you see them hurting the dog call the cops right away....
People wonder why Pit's grow up to be people biters....Eventually the dog will have had enough and turn on someone...if they don't end up beating him to death first...

Excellent idea. Even if you don't video tape it, I would call or email the local news station anyway and give them the details(dog being abused, animal control won't do anything, tax payer money being wasted,

) They love this kind of stuff and it is May sweeps. Good Luck!
