I've actually included that mod on the forum on the new server!
I agree that's handy.
I'm also installing a different type of site-wide search that will parse EVERYTHING including all forum content on a nightly basis so you can search from any page and get results from anywhere on the domain.
I've also, uh, relaxed a bit about searching. Yes, it's the right thing to do, but I'm trying not to be such a snobby geek expecting people to be into this stuff as much as I am, so instead of just sending people to search right away, I'm trying to answer in general, then recommend a search.
