David Blane

Did any of you watch him lastnight? He pulls off some amazing tricks, thought he was going to break that record of holding his breath for 9 minutes, but still made it past 7 minutes after being in water for 7 days and then being handcuffed, I thought he did pretty good, that trick where he pulled out that girls theeth was pretty awesome.

Yes, hubby & I watched it last night, and I practically chewed all my nails off too... He's a nut job but a smart one. I love his street magic...

I heard about that teeth illusion, that would been something to see ...the rest of the show was BORRRRING though; all I watched really was the last 15 minutes to see if he could do it.

I felt bad for him, he gave it such a good try! Certainly he didn't fail, he did great. He is such an amazing illusionist!

I can't believe anyone can hold their breath over 8 minutes- maybe it's easier underwater, but still! I could only hold mine for just over 2.
He should take up free diving, he'd do well.

Forget the teeth thing......I'm still trying to figure out how in the world he tied his shoe by wiggling his foot around in circles. Yeah I got suckered into the show too last night. I got all geeked up when I saw Evel Knieval.

He is one HOT nutty freak!!!

H - O - f'ing T.....HOT

I didn't watch it. I like his street magic but figured there is alot of camera work done in it. I watched a show about the editing that takes place in his productions. He is still HOT, in case, I forgot to mention it.

Oh yeah, the shoe lace thing was pretty good, did you notice how he tied the little girls shoe and made her think she did it herself, that was cool, but the theeth thing still has me baffled. Evel Knieval was funny, he seems like a grumpy old man now. lol

Hmmm...the holding the breath part is not as much of a feat as advertised, apparently.

The record is closer to 15 minutes, not nine if you breathe pure oxygen before hand to get your blood super-oxygenated...which he most certainly would have.
Quote:
Critics such as Mark Harris of the British Free Diving Association have been reported before the stunt saying that Blaine would have had an unfair advantage.[3] In any case, Blaine's feat could not have been officially recognized, as judges from the International Association for the Development of Apnea (IADA) were not present to verify that Blaine breathed no pure oxygen for at least two hours prior to beginning his attempt. For reference, the world record for holding one's breath after having breathed pure oxygen is closer to fifteen minutes.[4]

Mexivoof and I watched parts of it last night, too. I was shocked when he said he never heard of David Blaine or any of his stunts before! Does he spend all of his time on this forum and not listening to any news? Sometimes I wonder....
I wish I hadn't seen that tooth illusion. It creeped me out and I can't get the look on that girl's face out of my head.
