Impromptu Oregon Trip
Hi All,
Last week we decided spur of the moment to take a trip down the Oregon Coast. We'd been before two years ago & just loved it. We left after work on Sunday & stayed in Bellingham that night. Then on down the I5 through Seattle where we eventually cut over to the coast. Stopped in Astoria to check out the Goonie house (my fave childhhood movie) Stayed in Seaside, Lincoln City & Newport before turning back as our two year old had become very sick. (picked up a nasty, nasty gastro-int virus).... It was a good trip despite the puking... Weather was beautiful, Clam chowder was yummy...Here are some pictures.. ![]() Last edited by Tommygurl : 10-08-2006 at 01:11 PM. |

I don't know too much about the Pacific. Always said I'd never live west of the Mississippi. I did live 11 blocks west of it for a while. I guess tecnically it would have been North since the river runs west to east through the Cities.
I here it is pretty out there but the Ocean is much colder than the Atlantic. |

Glad to hear you had a great time - thanks for sharing those great pictures! It brings back great memories. Seaside is very special to me because there I saw the ocean (not only the Pacific but any kind of sea) for the very first time (I live in Alps-country, you know ;-)).

Now that the little bugger has passed it on to his sister he is fine....I just love the beach. There are miles & miles of sandy beaches...so much natural beauty there.....We were flying the kite one afternoon on the beach in Newport & I just couldn't stop thinking "it just doesn't get better than this.." Makes all the sacrifices we do having hubby never home seem a little more worth it...Our next adventure starts July 3rd when we meet hubby in Wyoming for six weeks....then Mexico at Christmas... Tough life eh? Melissa BTW-Tappy when did you book your trip? Did I miss it? I just noticed that you are leaving soon? |
