That's too bad. We really enjoyed the ribs we had there in December. We were hoping Gary would be able to make a go of it... however, had our doubts because there just didn't seem to be enough traffic on that corner (at least not then) to keep them in business. Any idea what Gary will be doing?

Sad, but true. We went to their last hurrah party Wednesday night. I think I drank ALL the scotch on hand. It was lots of fun...girls dancing on tables...too bad it wasn't like that every night.

Another restaurant in the "closed" file....Tacos Isreal.

I thought Tacos Israel was just moving to a new location... at least according to this post by Toni & Cheri.

They're not going to have another restaurant, just a taco cart next to the OXXO at the first stoplight north of Playa. The good news is they plan to do home (hopefully hotel) delivery. They will post the phone number on the current location once they move, and when we see it, we'll post it here.

That's what I thought too but I haven't seen any sign of the family for awhile. I've been checking out the new location, but nothing yet. These guys move very quickly usually. Their last renovation at the old store was very fast. I'm concerned not to see them up and running yet. We'll miss family dinners there.

Ouch is right. Same owners still? I was jonesin' for their chicken fingers last week, but everytime I walked by, they were always closed.

Zocalo just wasn't getting enough business. Paul is upset, of course. I'm not sure what he's doing next.

Friends of mine (Mike and Cheryn) bought the hot dog place. The old owners had a family emergency I think and needed to get back to their country. I need to get down there and try it now. The menu looked pretty good. Guess I didn't pay attention too closely b/c I don't recall 90 pesos. Ouch is right. I'll stop by soon though! I think it was Wednesday that they opened.

Zocolo is closed now, but hopefully Paul will work something else out in town maybe? Just a rumor...we'll have to stand by to see what happens.

It is too bad that Zocalo closed. I was in PdC when it opened. I was hoping to eat there on this trip. I think Stewart posted some great pictures of the food that he and Kelli ordered. I wish Paul the best of luck in finding another project. He is a very talented man.

Rob went for lunch this week and said it was tasty but $$$$ by Playa fast food standards. Even the Mickey D's here is cheaper by comparison.
