It looked the same back in May and I agree, probably the same guard. Of the 6 days we were there, it was only (maybe) used once as one of the yellow ferries parked on the north side of it for about an hour. Not really sure why and I did not see anyone getting on/off the ferry there. Personally, if it's not in use, I wish they would level it. It does obstruct the view and is really nothing more than an eyesore.

about Aquaworld...?

Hi all,

I'm new here and have a question about Aquaworld, which is the business responsible for this pier (or so I've read). Can anyone tell me about who owns Aquaworld? I've found this name: German Orozco Sarro. A good friend of mine met a guy online who claims that he and his grandfather own Aquaworld, and I think he's not quite on the up-and-up. Any information you can provide would be helpful, thanks.

We would be happy to not see that pier next time in town. We would as well love to see that butt friggin' ugly concrete bank gone from the water. It obviously didn't improve their beach. The beach gets sucked away and brought back in a flash there. I bet that bank as well prevents GPR from getting their beach back. It's pretty silly to think you can control the force of the ocean.

Well, that's really about green violations by the Real Hotel group.

Ehm.. I need to improve a lot on my spanish...
I (think I) can see now that they are not mentioning the pier but rather the sandbags that are causing erosion to the area south of it. Same effect as the pier.

Are they still using the pier for cruise ship tenders?

Nope.

Haven't seen anything at all like that for a long, long time.

Thanks Steve. Last Feb. it was strange to see the cruise ships docked in Playa and disgorging at the pier. Nothing wrong with it just different.
