Hello from Utah....
Not much to do in St. George, Utah, or wherever we are.....so I thought I'd use the Internet and say hello to you all.
We left home Friday morning...have seen some beautiful scenery on the way. We were going to see a lot more of Utah...but because of various reasons which I will detail later in my trip report, we settled down early for the night instead and will just head into Vegas early tomorrow morning. Got a call early this morning as we drove through Idaho to find out John's mother passed away last night. Not expected...although not entirely unexpected either. Haven't told the kids...made the decision to wait to tell them until we get home. Will finish the trip...family will hold services until we return. So today's been a hard day....hopefully we can get our minds off of it while in Vegas, for the kids' sakes. Today was my birthday...I shopped at factory outlets...never done that before, it's fun. Too bad my birthday now will be always associated with a dreary date as well. Have a great week, everyone. |

Very sorry to hear about John's mom...hope the rest of the trip goes as well as can be expected though. And I can sympathize with the birthday on a sad day...my mother passed away a day after my 50th a few months ago.

Ginger, I am so sorry to hear about your MIL. Please accept our condolences and a hug for the hubby. Sorry you did not have a happy birthday but there will be plenty of other birthdays to celebrate. Try to enjoy what's left of your trip.
