Playa Dogs Now Open...
I'm actually posting this for Kittie (helping with the image). She can add her opinion since she went to eat here tonight and I haven't been yet. I really need to get down there soon though! The menu sounds good and brings something new to town. They are located on 10th Ave. in front on Plaza Pelicanos.

HA! Heather, when I first saw your heading, I thought perhaps the restaurant was intended for dogs - not people eating hot dogs. They have them in the US - particularly in California, I believe - so it's not beyond the realm of possibility.

Playa Dogs is addictive!
Quote:
As Sarah said in a previous post; our friends, Cheryn and Michael Salazar, have opened Playa Dogs. They are located a couple of doors down from Dr. Taco. They open at 12 noon and are playing with the hours of operation right now. Randy and I went yesterday and Michael made us some great food! Randy had the chili dog and I had the cabo dog and we shared some french fries. Both of our hotdogs were excellent! My only complaint is that I wanted many more after inhaling my cabo dog! I had a sample of the New York dog and it was fantastic! We are looking forward to going back to try all the different selections. Michael puts alot of love in his dogs and although he is new to the restaurant business, he is striving for excellence! He wants to make sure the dog you get on any day is as wonderful as the one you had the day before. The Salazars have recently moved here from California with their two teenagers and we are happy to have them in Playa and now even more so since tasting those addictive hotdogs! Go check them out and tell them Kittiekat sent you- I want a finders fee of some free hotdogs! ![]() Thanks so much, Sarah for helping me with getting the menu posted. |

It's nice to see they are trying to replicate a Chicago-style hot dog, I can't wait to try it. Maybe that's what I'll do for lunch today. Also, I'm very proud of them for leaving the stinking ketchup OFF the Chicago dog! Real Chicagoans wouldn't touch a hotdog with ketchup on it!!! Even without the neon-green relish and hot peppers, I'm sure it will be a winner!
