Midlife Mavericks - Women Reinventing Themselves in Mexico
Has anyone else read this book by Karen Blue? Just got it off Amazon.com last week and am enjoying it. Can relate to many of the 'there's got to be more to life interviews she does. Very inspiring to make changes while we are all still young enough to enjoy them. She interviews women in Lake Chapala and Ajijac.

I read it before we went to check out Lake Chapala and Ajijic as a place to live. I loved the book and found it inspiring. Although, it is about mid-life women living in the Ajijic area, I found it to be more about mid-life women in general and trying to figure out who are and their what their strengths and weaknesses are. Karen (Blue) and I had some great on-line communication.
We did not "choose" that area to retire to but we're glad we went and we met some great people who really enjoy their lives there. It wasn't for us but we would certainly encourage those of you in the "looking to retire in Mexico" stage to go and check it out. Obviously, we made the decision to live here in Playa and it was a good one! |
