Hello Nerak936
Thanks Nerak936. We have been reading this site for the last 3 years and finally decided to join in the fun. We were booked to go back to the Tucan with our friends in July but our youngest son (21) Craig got bitten whilst abroad with the RN and over the last 8 months he has watched as his left foot has died and he is close to having his forefoot amputated. As you can imagine we could never go away on a holiday with our son in this siuation. We will be back though as we love the Tucan and PDC.
On a Hill there stood a Cow, It must have moved coz it's not there now. |

But it does certainly sound like he has a very loving, supportive family right beside him as he goes through this, and for that I'm sure he is grateful. The beautiful IB Tucan/Quetzal will be there for you ALL when you get the opportunity to return again. Be sure to say "hola" to those adorable agoutis for me when you do return!!! ![]() |

Son was Bitten
Hiya Always Missin PDC,
He thinks it was some type of Mosquito but as he was in the Med at various places, Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar he is not sure where he was when he was bitten and it lay dormant in his leg until the ship got back to UK before something triggered off the bite and caused Craig to end up with Large Cell Systemic Vasculitis which killed off his immune system and made all his blood cells enlarge. As the arteries are so small in you fingers and toes, the blood could not get through to the extremities and unfortunately his left foot has died and mummified and he will soon lose all his toes and part of the forefoot. It just goes to show that these things can happen to even the healthiest of people as Craig was the fittest in our family until this happened, a very fit sportsman and now he is in a wheelchair waiting for an operation to amputate the dead part of his foot. He has kept a very good attitude all through this devastating illness and we know that by helping each other as a family, he will get over this and soon be on the road to recovery again. Thnks for your kind words. The DrydenClan |

Dryden.....Hockey Player?
Hiya C943, You have confused me and this is possibly because I am a Scotsman living in England but I cannot think of any Hockey players with the name of Dryden or is this the name of a place where a famous player lives?
There is also the Dryden - Edwards Air Force base at Cape Canaverel. |
