Hi folks,

Spent a lot of time reading through your info. on many topics over the past few months. I am from Belfast but my husband is Mexican from Puebla. We will be visiting P'Carmen Dec. 18-23. We are looking for somewhere that will accomodate 4 adults + 1 child (4 years old) that is not expensive. Have checked out Paraiso Azul, waiting for reply.
Would really appreciate some advice.

Hello to all. Just wanted to introduce myself and I am soo looking forward to getting back to my mexican hideaway soon! Hubby and I are moving there in Aug 2007 and have a house in Playacar already.

The answers in the beginning about schools helped a lot because we have 5

kids and 3 will be going to school down there. This looks like an awesome place to be and I will be back real soon!! Bobbi

Hello, this is my first post and I hope it works. I joined the site last year when I bid on and won the silent auction for a week at the Xaman-Ha Condo. I was so surprised that I won, I never win anything.

I had never been to Mexico until year 2001, after that first trip I now make a trip a couple of times a year. Usually come with my daughter Angie and my beautiful red-headed granddaughter Lydia. My main traveling partner Cole, my husband, died in 2003, so now I travel with family or friends, actually came by myself last September and still had a wonderful time.

The week of April 22nd five of my former co-workers and I are coming down to stay in the condo. Only two of us have been to Mexico, everyone is very excited. I tell them how great Playa, Tulum and the whole area is.

This is probabaly way more information than anyone wants to know.

I do have a question, I have been researching tours, most of which take up the entire day. Does anyone know of a tour to Chichen Itza that doesn't take almost 12 hours? Are there tours where we could design the type of tour we want to take?

One of the mods may move this to the intro section. But to answer your question, Chichen Itza in a 3+ hour ride each way from Playa, so there is about 1/2 the day there. And beleve me you do not want to rush it at the site. It is well worth investing the whole day on. The PlayaInfo tour is your best bet.

This is my first post and Linda C's quote below hit home when I first gazed upon my new grandaughter two weeks ago. Now it will be a lot harder to get her grandma to get away to PCD again. Harder for me, too.

Hello, from another newbie. A forum newbie, ut not actually a Playa newbie as I've been making an annual trip down for the past six years. I am now in the process of purchasing my own place to stay while in Playa, and hopefully lend or rent out to my New Yorkers friends.

I actually joined up because I am looking for a place to post a negative review of a condo rental I stayed in last month. A Google search found a couple of entries mentioning this place on this forum, but I want to be sure of the rules before posting my nasty comments.

I tried to contact the owner TWICE for some explanation, apology -- I wasn't asking for any refund of monies -- just some acknowledgement that the place was sub-par and not up to rental standards. I explained that if I did not hear back from her within a week that I would post a bad review to warn others. So what do you forum moderators and regulars think? Is there an area to express such views here? Is there a specific forum where reviews are posted?

Looking forward to chatting with all of you and perhaps meeting you on my next trip down.... March, maybe?

My husband and I live in WV near Cumberland, MD. We visited Playa in the spring and bought a condo, which is under construction. The due date for completion in fall of 2997. Can't wait. We both fell in love with the entire location, people and ocean
