My Honeymoon
Hi Forum, so glad to find you. I have been planning a trip to PDC since 1993 which is when my husband and I got married. The travel agent at that time steered us away from Mexico and to Jamaica saying it was a "poor" country and we wouldn't enjoy ourselves. We went to Jamaica and did enjoy it and I do still LOVE Jamaica. I got a chance finally in 2005 to take a cruise that had a stop in Cozumel. I told my husband - we are taking the ferry over to PDC and he agreed. We fell for the place immediately and I started replanning our "honeymoon". Well this is it folks we will finally be there January 27th and I couldn't be happier. We are staying in one of the beach bungalows at Hotel Blue Beach. Since I had not found this forum until yesterday and did not know that the place to stay is "Luna Blue". Anyway, we hope to stop by the Peep Meet at La Ranita on the 27th, but we don't land until noon. I know we will be tired and want to see the beach and I'm sure we can find that and hope to be able to find La Ranita. Anyway can you tell I'm excited - I can't shut up.

hi my name is nikki. i was in playa carmen twice before about 15 years ago at least. the first time dirt roads, and we heard there was one fone, but we never did find it. the second time they had just started to build a tall german hotel and the roads were being paved and we saw policemen. so i know i will be taken back on this trip. i have seen pictures in travel brochures!!! when we there we met a man named haido who had a small restaurant named after his baby daughter. i would like to see haido again. hopefully he still is in the restaurant business. he really catered to us when the electricity wasn't going out. also, we went to both xelha and xcaret and now i see there is a new park - parque chankanaab. which would you recommend as we only have time to do one. i was also concerned about the hurricane damage. i will be traveling with 3 others that have never been there and they have elected me tour guide, so any tips you can give me would be appreciated. we will be coming on a cruise ship this time and i thought we would take the ferry from cozumel and go to tulum and then one of the parks and if i can find haido, a meal with him and then shopping if we have time. any ideas? thnx nikki

Want to move to Playa!
Hello everybody,
I am writing from Toronto Canada and I really want to move to playa and would like to know if anyone knows of a reasonable place to live in Playa? I have been several times and love it so much that I want to pack my bags and go! Can someone reply with lodging options for a stay of at least 3 months if not more. Thanks, Chad |

Welcome First, I would post your question in a different forum, perhaps the General forum. This is more of "get to know the rules forum" that most people won't read...except for you new folk. And i would begin a search (search button above, advanced search, keywords "moving", show results as threads) If you have troubles with the search function....ask away you will find a ton of information here concerning your questions BTW - i moved here last week ![]() |

Here I am....
Well I have been to playa every year for the past 7! With and without the family. Love it. I am heading down on the 22nd for my 40th with husband, friends and sister - who happens to be staying at Luna Blue - so I guess you all will meet her! I am from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the winter has been cold and not enough snow so I cannot wait to get the beach. See ya soon! |

Okay, following directions
Hi All,
We are a family of 4 from Brooklyn, NY - greatest city in in the world! (Although looking at the way I creted our account, one could think we are from "Brookyln".....) I have been to Mexico numerous times, starting from when I was a kid and went with my parents, through college when I did a 30 day archaelogical tour of the Yucatan, and then introducing my wife to Mexico, including PDC, first before we got married, then for our honeymoon (did the West Coast that trip) We have two lovely kids - a son 11 years old and a daughter 7 years old. This year we will be taking them out of the country for the first time, and we chose PDC for their first international trip. Cant wait! Last edited by BrooklynFamily : 02-25-2007 at 04:40 PM. |

Intro
Hi my name is Mark and myself and my partner Evelyn, have been to Playa del Carmen for the last 2 years, staying both times at the Riu Lupita.
We have had the best holidays of our lives there. The locals and tourists alike are very friendly and always give you a warm welcome. I hope to be returning later this year and maybe see some of the posters in this forum. |
