For all of you that love Crepes .... The Crepes Factory (the owner is Israeli) has moved from their location on calle 24 between 5th and 1st ...50yds up calle 24 across to the other side of LaQuinta.

Also the hamburger restaurant the used to be on the northeast corner of LaQuinta and calle 24 is now going to be a new Cafe and Bistro (will open shortly). Someone told me the people that owned the hamburger restaurant reopened across the street from Walmart.

thank you Headhunter, I was wondering what happened to David, who made the hamburgers, I think their hamburgers were great and It was always amazing to see how he could read your lips even at a distance!

On the road leading to the not-yet-opened Plaza las Americas Mall there is a brand new hotel called MAGIC EXPRESS. We believe it is a budget chain hotel.
It looks to be similar to the just-opened Holiday Inn on 10th backing up into Playacar.

It's aimed at the business traveller really, as you've guessed.

It's part of the Magic Resorts group. They also own the Magic Blue which is the Mayan style hotel on 10th (see my October openings and closings thread) and they're going to build a 600 bed AI near Tulum, starting next Jan.

Well... that new Cafe and Bistro opened up within 15 hrs of my last post about it. It's called Mystic Cafe and Bistro located at the northeast corner of calle 24 and LaQuinta.
Within minutes the place was crowded. It has 4-5 computer workstations in the back for use by the customers.
We have yet to try it out ...but will give a report on it as soon as we do.

On another note ... it seems that the Margarita Bar and Restaurant along the east side of LaQuinta between calle 22 and 24 next to Miro closed this afternoon and was immediately emptied out within a blink of an eye ... so much for rapid changes in Playa.

Also ... looks like a large restaurant in going in next to me on the northeast corner of Avenida 1 calle 26 in the new condo building. Watched as they unloaded several dozen chairs.
Further news to follow.

Thanks, Mindbender, I had missed your post about the Magic Blue on 10th.

We sure did enjoy "Los Burritos Del Gordos" and highly recommend it for a cheap fill up.

Great pics Jeff for folks needing a visual!
You might quickly edit and put in the address/cross street/intersection for an all-in-one reference...
Located at the corner of Calle 10bis and Avenida 15.
