I'm not sad to see the Glass Bar leave but it kind of sucks losing a place at that location. That is probably the busiest intersection on 5th Ave and now there is a vacant building. Hope something moves in there quickly. I remember when Fly closed. That area just didn't seem as vibrant. I'm sure the rent there is outrageous. Maybe we can get Big Al to take over this place and leave the Beer Bucket alone.

So when they say they the Glass Bar group is moving in front of the other restaurant, what does that mean exactly? We always have our anniversary dinner there in May. |

That means they made a common translation error from Spanish en frente (de) to English in front (of), which are "false friends" as language people refer to them: Spanish en frente (de) really corresponds to English across from.
So it sounds like they are, at least for the moment, just moving across the street. ![]() Steve |

That seems to be the experience most people have there. Like I said it must have been a bad night. But when you drop 700 pesos for a special Easter dinner and are treated the way we were, it doesn't deserve another chance IMO. Not with all of the great options available. |

We will be offering our services in our restaurant "Di Vino" located across the street, on the corner of 12th Street & 5th Avenue. Later we will inform you of the new [= permanent, evidently] location of "The Glass Bar", opening July 2008.Steve |

![]() Well the Glass Bar was recommended to us by a personal friend of mine. We wanted to have a nice meal for Easter dinner and money is no object for us when we're on vacation as long as we're happy. Mistake! I never told him how disappointed we were with it. Should have just gone to HC de Monterrey huh Stew? |

I've eaten at Glass Bar a couple of times with my friend Anita and with Michael's brother/sister-in-law, and it was always great. I can't say I've had the opportunity to eat there a lot, but it bums me out if it's going away.
It sounds like they're just moving, though. ![]() |
