New Openings
OPENINGS
1 - Re-opening Mi Pueblito Mexicano? Corner of 8th and 5th 2 - Mini Super or Deli (not sure) 8th street between Illusion Hotel and Dive Mikes. 3 - Restaurant or Cantina Solea on 8th Street between 5th and the Beach. Someone noted previously I think that the Coffee Stop or something along that line on 10th street in front of the parking lot of Plaza Pelicanos closed but they just reduced their hours to morning and early afternoon. Yes they are closed in the evening. Regards |

The Mi Pueblito is the old jaguar and yes it is the supposed owner of Azotea and Sur but someone told me that they are just managing it and that the owner of the Old jaguar now Mi Pueblito or something like that is a german guy.
Not sure but did see the guy from Sur out there a couple of times. Went back to the Restaurant Solea which seems to be still working on decor and stuff but some excellent promotions. They had a steak special one night with a Rib Eye Steak, Fries and a Beer for $200 pesos I think it was, excellent beef. Wife had something called Solea Salad which was like from Seinfeld "THE BIG SALAD" but with all kinds of stuff in it and an in house dressing. Beers $20 pesos, 2X1 most of the day on mixed drinks it seems and they have those Beer Towers for the table like a gallon of beer for $200 pesos. They are doing something for Super Bowl just not sure yet I guess and we passed there today to check out the specials and seems they are installing draft beer.... MMMMMmmmm The Bistro next door to them needs some help folks, nobody seems to ever go in there, they have the cutest girls outside as hostesses, the place looks expensive but prices are good but we are afraid to try it, someone at another restaurant said the food was not good but you know it is subjective. Anyway, Happy Hump Day to all. |

Hey Barb,
No no where near La Tortuga, it is between the old Jaguar and "Seasons Bistro" on 8th street heading down to the beach from 5th Avenue. We tried Seasons Bistro last night with some friends but we were a little disappointed in the food. The service was OK but the beef we guys ordered was really tough, wife had a salad. The only thing I can say is my friends didn't want to talk to me after the meal. Hasta la Pasta Amigos |

Don't fancy supporting these types of folks when the original was great. |

Looked for Kefa last night. Asked a nearby business, who said the owners moved out of town. So... did perhaps the re-open occur in a different location? Edit: Odd, now I see the previous posts. Gremlins. |
