Need some help with what is still open.....?

So I'm updating and renovating my 'list' and as most of these have been on for some time, but we either still have not gone there or havn't been for a while/heard anything recent about them...thought I would check with all the local experts out there in the know so I can delete as necessary! Txs in advance...

PLEASE CLARIFY IF ANY OF THESE ARE STILL OPEN or CLOSED? They are mostly from the cheap eats/local category.

El Santuario (15 Ave between 12 y 14St)
El Pastorcito (30 Ave/28 St) CHANGED OWNERS (SAME NAME?)
El Duro (west side of 30 Ave between 24 y 26 St)
El Poblano (next to El Duro)
A La Burger (26 St/20Ave) CLOSED
Las Quecas de Playa (6 St between 10 y 15 Ave)
Las Portales (across from Las Quecas de Playa)
Dona Juanita Y Cia - (Juarez and 45 Ave)
Mayan Potate (never did find this...supposed to be around 40 St/10 Ave)
La Bendicion de Dias (25 Ave/42 St)
Madrez....I know this is now in an art alleyway off 5th and can't remember which street, but did it move from 10 Ave or a 2nd place open?
Empanadas Luis - (20 Ave/12 bis across from bus station)...is this just a cart or an actual place?
Baguiz - (20 Ave between 6 y 8 St)
Il Mangiere (5th betwen 28 y 30St) CLOSED
Nueva Semilla ( a veggy indian place, above indian shop on 5th between 10 y 12 St) CLOSED
Wayak Cafe (15 Ave between 4 y 6 St) wasn't open the day we went by.
The Curry Bowl (phone in to go only from Abby - Indian food)
Pasion Caribena (32 St/5th) CLOSED
El Emporio (38 st between 5th y 10ave). Looked closed 2 wks ago. NOW MICHELANDIA Restaurant and Sports Bar
Jungle Fruit (10 Ave between 8 y 10 St)
Jungle Smoothie (5th just north of 10St) MOST LIKELY CLOSED
Tayazal - (Constituentes between 30 y 35ave) CLOSED

Out of Town
Mezzanine - Tulum OPEN
Tu Parador - Puerto Advenuras Pueblo

Xocolatier...

I'll just answer my own questions!

Really? Xocolatier has joined the group of restaurants that has now re-opened again?
Anyone know if it is still the same Cocina 38 folks owning it? NO
What hours/days of week? BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER starting Dec 16
What kind of cuisine this time is it favouring? Can't remember! Probably med fusion!

the food looked great, the place is very upscale
i wonder how they will do as the previous restaurant got great reviews and still went under
however i was told it is the owners of como como, so maybe they will do OK
my friend also told me that pachamama is very good, one of her favorite plaes for lunch

Stopped by there y/day tot see what's going on...they are slated to open tomorrow...we have a ressy so we will see!
It IS the same chef as before from Cocina 38...they apparently changed names due to new administration.
Menu prices are lower then Cocina 38
Mediterranean Fusion (hmm same as como como.)
V nice looking menu...with some food pics too.

Hi. Kismet opened a week ago. A soft opening but Mayte is there and cooking her heart out. I am amazed at the portion sizes she serves. So far I 've had the grilled fish and the beef tacos. Served 3 on a plate. I can eat two comfortably but the 3rd is finished only b/c it tastes amazing and not b/c I am actually still hungry.

She is branching out to curries too she said and let me try a beef and artichoke curry the other day. Worth checking Kismet out if down that way. GO thru the arch about 1/2 a mile. There is a sign out front. If you tell the guys at the arch you are going to eat at Kismet they normally let you thru without paying the Sian Ka'an fee.

I don't think it is that far for a day trip. Plus you can spend the day at a Tulum beach club before and after the lunch!

the old Manolos

So where the old Manolos was - has now reopened and is fully functioning - live band and all....but NO name anywhere! Have no idea what it is called. If the owners weren't getting along...maybe the 1 has stayed and kept the location and the other took the name?! who knows.
