Trip Report from Nick-n-Nora w/pics

Day #1…Friday, May 12th
The Whirlwind has started. As Nora the “packing” tornado twists her way through the house our trusted dog Bailey smartly hides under the dinning room table for protection…as tornadoes do, nothing goes untouched for packing consideration. Bailey seemed to understand this danger and escaped to her haven, something I could not do. Thankfully round one is over, only the damage needs to be assessed. Round two begins by reconsidering what was done in round one…hmmm, twelve bathing suits or eight? (The actual number of days we are staying in Playa). Perhaps only seven and Nora can buy a new one in Playa? Round three settles on six and Nora will leave her options open to buy a new bathing suit or TWO while in paradise (at least it isn’t jewelry). This is what vacations are for…right?

The six suitcases get reduced to one LARGE suitcase that eventually gets tagged EXTRA HEAVY, one medium size case and three “small” carry-on bags. (A trained octopus would come in handy.) Whew…anxiety now builds for the morning…a 4:30am alarm for a 7:00am flight…we were so tired from the packing storm that we were concerned we would sleep through the alarm. Morning arrives and we are both wide awake at 3:30am (or is this still night), like kids the night before their first Disney trip…but this is our second trip to Playa, we’re almost veterans…doesn’t matter, paradise is still paradise no matter how many times you go there. We’re up, get ready and we’re out…on the way to the big metropolis <ST1:p<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on">Dayton</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">Ohio</st1:State></ST1:p airport…we hope the plane is as ready as we are! More to come.

Off to a great start- looking forward to reading more! But I think this should be in the general forum, not off-topic, right?

This is great. I just pack the house and go. Never forget anyting because I've been putting it on the dining room table for 3 months. Get to Playa and don't use a 1/10th of what I brought.

Same here I always pack clothes to go out in and never use them. This year it will be 2 swim suits, 2 pair of shorts and some t-shirts. Maybe a change of underwear, will see if I have room for them.

A couple of years ago catching a cab to Playa from the airport the cab driver asked what country we were King of. I said, "What do you mean?"

He said, "Well, with all this luggage I figured you must be some kind of Monarch."

That's exactly what I said to Nick when I saw this. But how do we move it? I'm sure it will take some magical powers from one of the great moderators. Or should we just start a new one . I'll be having a talk with Nick tonight when I see him :p

Nora,
PM one of the moderators and ask them to move it. Ask TeeZett- he's a new mod, he would probably love to move it for you .
I just think more people will see it if it's in the general topic section.

Thanks for the advice . . . I'll do that right away. Maybe I can get it moved before Nick gets back online to notice. Hey, nobody tell him

He is a straight man. He'll never understand. A beer and a swimsuit and he'll be satisfied. Just tell him listen you fill my purse with crap all the time, all year long and make me lug it arround. You can lug theses suitcases twice a year.

...
Sure.

(Hint: if you don't want all these :p :p :p :p :p in a post, do not copy and paste from Word. I would simply use the good old Notepad to write a longer post.
