Also, we have a cousin who was a cloistered nun at the Visitation Monastery on Bancroft Parkway, before the building/land were sold to developers and the nuns are moved to the mountains of Massachusetts. (People who know me might find it amusing that I am related to a nun! I didn't get the gene. )

Indeed! We'd love to hook up with some local Peeps from the region.

philly

I grew up off the first exit after the walt whitman. Needless to say we spent alot of time over there growing up. I occasionally work at Jefferson, but spend most of my time at a hospital in Camden overlooking Liberty 1 & 2.
Just went to Gino's for a cheese steak last week. A couple of guys were complaining about having to take down a "speak english " sighn.
Those horses still do ride through Philly, usually with police on them, or dragging a tourist carriage down south street, and the Italian market is now the asian market. Great, fun city
We live only a couple miles from each other, but have met through our love for a place in another country. Small world.

I was in Playa last week. While riding in a cab on 10th I thought I saw a sign for Philly Cheese Steaks.

Would you buy one in Playa? Cheese with. . . . What would they do?

Also for the Horsham/Abington/Jenkintowners - I was at the airshow at Willow Grove on Saturday. It was a perfect day.

Not far at all from where I grew up! I was up near the Naval Air Base in Dec. and couldn't believe how the area had grown/changed. (Not quite as dramatic as the ongoing changes in Playa, but close!)

BTW, isn't that base slated for closure?

I spent time / lived in South Philly, West Philly and then Buck County (Yardley/Newtown).

I never took the El. But I remember a commercial:

"I'm Bob Gegnith, of Gegnith Crythler Plymouth at the Erie-Torrethdale El thtop. . . ."

Haven't thought of that in years. It was pretty funny!
