Hola from Texas

Hey there, I am new to this whole deal and am coming to playa tomorrow. Gonna be out there until the end of July... I am currently college a student in Dallas, Texas and have been living there for three years but originally am from Northern California. I know noone in the area and am going to be living in Playa by myself for an internship - rough deal right... so i thought I would hop on here to get some scoop on what to do and where to go.

Hey there and welcome to the forum.

I guess the best thing to do is hop on and take a look around....there are quite a few locals on the forum and with some searching, you can find out who is local, what they do and where they hang out.

Have a great internship.....and stay in Playa.

What kind of internship are doing?

There are some really great people who live in Playa. Go to mapchick.com, It's too late to get a map before you go, but they have lots of info on line about where thing are and how to get there. Go by Luna Blue and say 'hi' to Tony and Cheri (owners) and then go to the Beer Bucket or Tequila Barrell most any night of the week to meet some fun people. Afternoons at Capitan Daves on the beach is live music and lots of locals.

Also just about any weekend you'll find people from this board down there and they usually try to get a 'peep meet' together while they're there. Stay posted and check out the forum. I'll be down there with my sister July 27th and I know several others who'll be there this week, the next week.....middle of July.... If you get lonely, we're ALWAYS here and we'll keep you entertained!

Hope your're so busy and having such a great time that we hardly 'see' ya!

Welcome...as Tex said ...make sure you "Plant your Butt" for your state. We are arriving in 5 days and will have a Peep Meet on the 12th. Check out that thread here. It is quite a large meet so it will be a good chance to meet some of the peeps on this forum. We'd love to meet you! BTW, where are you going to school in Dallas? I'm from the Dallas area.
