Honeymooning in Playa

Hola! My fiance and I are getting married in Oct. Lots of friends & family have recommended Playa as the 'perfect honeymoon spot'. We've looked at pictures, etc and we agree. Now the question becomes....where should we stay? We'd prefer a nice, cozy, adults only, and all-inclusive resort with GREAT beaches. We'd surely appreciate any feedback...

Thanks & gig 'em!!!

Secrets is probably a good bet. I have not stayed there, but have seen the property and talked to some folks that stayed there. None of them had any complaints other than it is pretty far north of Playa del Carmen (about 20 miles).

Thanks...my sister stayed at El Dorado a few years back & loved it, but she said she wasn't sure how it is now (after the hurricanes, etc).

unless you're specifically looking for a secluded resort on a quiet stretch of beach, why do AI in Playa??? There is so much more to experience in Playa proper than to be holed up in a hotel the whole time. But if you are looking for a secluded beach resort, Sunscape Tulum has an awesome location

I think there are two Secrets. One, Secrets Excellence, is very close to Puerto Morelos. The other, Secrets Capris (I think), is much closer. It is within 10 minutes of downtown.

Congratulations! We'll be honeymooning there as well, in January. Since we can manage an 11 night stay, we decided to split our trip into two segments, first half staying right in Playa at the All Riviera and the second half at an AI (Riu-we got engaged at a Riu). We figure we can have a little extra RnR during the AI portion, and if it ends up we still want to get out and about (not unlikely), we're still close enough to do so (apparently about a 20-30 minute walk or a quick cab ride).
