Missing girl from McKinney Texas
As of yesterday, my daughters best friend (12 years old and her step sister, 14) as missing. The 12 year old, Briana, was in Playa with us last summer as was her whole family. We have no reason to believe that foul play occured when she left. She lives in McKinney Texas and is believed to still be in the Dallas, Plano or Allen area (they just moved from Allen to McKinney).
I know that it may be close to impossible to locate them (we have been to 2 houses that we were tipped off about - with police in tow. One was questionable as the woman who opened the door immediately started yelling that she was going to call her lawyer and then the man of the house, and I use that word loosely began spouting some good lies to the police. Ironically, the second home, about 2 hours ago, was the home of a police officer. He stated that his daughter no longer lived there, since she had run away 2 months ago. She now lives with Grandparents. After talking to the police, this type of runaway usually return home on their own in a few days. It is little comfort for the families involved, as they just want them home...safe. At that time, they will deal with the root cause of the problems.I will post more, including a picture of Briana as soon as I can get one. Hey, we know it is a long shot, but there are many Playa infoites from the Dallas area. Briana stats: Female, 12 years old, African American, 130 lbs, 5'3". Loves Lip Gloss, last seen wearing Blue Jeans and an unknown shirt. Tariska Stats: Female, 14 years old, African American, approx 115 lbs, 5'5, small tightly braided long hair. Unknown clothing. It was just reported to me (from my wife and daughter who are with the mother, that the girls have about 500.00 usd (aquired from parents without permission). I will post again as soon as I can, I am off to be with her family right now. |

Thank You all. Your thought must have worked as the girls returned early this morning.
Their story seems to be rather interesting and scary. The girls were evidentlly being "hidden out" in Plano at the home where the Police officer (last house we visited) had sent his daughter to live 2 months ago with Grandma. According to the girls, when Grandma felt that the heat was being turned up, she sent the girls to hide in an alley for over 4 hours. Grandma went to a movie to avoid being caught. Then an aunt drove them to within 2 or 3 miles of home and dropped them off. What the @%&*. These people are insane. I am sorry, but if your kid shows up at my house, I will be asking questions and I will either call you or the Police. Hey....we are just glad they are home. Thank You all for your good thoughts. |

Tappy,
You are so right. I have to say that this has been a very eye-opening experience for my daughter. She was with us as we went house to house with the Police. She got to see exactly what was happening and no one sugar coated it just because she was around (she is a very mature 13). She was even there when they came home. I don't think she will ever try something like this because she was scared to death and worried about her friends safety. We are al glad that they are home, but it seems that the long term may involve quite a bit of counceling and therapy for the entire family. They will be dealing with issues that I hope to never have to deal with. Quote:
