weather reports for the week of the 4th

Are these just afternoon mini-showers, or did we pick the worst week ever

http://www.weather.com/outlook/trave...ended/MXQR0076

I'm a playa noobie, sorry if this is common.

DUCK AND COVER!!!!!!!
Take a look at James's 'please read' post at the top of this forum for info or do a search. I'm afraid weather is a no-no question here.....important thing is, unless you're caught in a hurricane, Playa is fab whatever the weather!

You could edit your post if you wanted and cover your tracks

Take heart in the fact you aren't the first and you won't be the last to ask The search facility on here throws up all kinds of info so if you can't find what you need then ask away.
Welcome to the fourm by the way! I'm sure you'll have a great time in Playa!

Forecast looks like it did for the week we were there last month. As you have figured out from the posts, introductory info, and peeps comments, you have little to worry about in regards to weather.
I think it rained (sprinkled) for about 10 minutes one day and then cleared and it seemed to have lightly rained one night of the 6 days we were there and I think weather.com had said 60% chance of rain everyday (nothing but blue skies and baking sun)
Have FUN!!!!!

The weather for the week of the 4th will be a degree or two lower than it was three years ago when we had really hot conditions, which is to say it will be about average for this time of year.

Not a hard course. Just wake up, stick your head out the door and say, oh, "Mostly sunny and hot today, with a minor chance of an afternoon shower". It's not only the school motto, but I hear they even print the exact statement on the back of the diploma in case you did not memorize it.
The Master's course involves learning to say "It's cooler here in the Winter and Warmer in the Summer".

OK, I'm going to cross my fingers and hope like all get out that I don't jinx my trip this year, BUT, for the last 5years that Pookie and I have been traveling to the caribbean, We have always had great weather. We missed last years hurricane by a couple weeks and had wonderful weather. Our first year in Playa, we stayed at the Lindo and rode the bus to Playacar so we could walk into town. It was a little overcast, and right as we got to the Playacar gate, the clouds opened up and it poured for about 15 minutes. We took cover under the canopy of the trees and pretty much stayed out of it. Then it cleared (very quickly) and turned out to be a fantastic sunny, HOT day. At the end of that trip, the day we were flying out sooooo early, we woke up to overcast but the rain held off long enough for me to visit the beach one last time and take some last sunrise pics. As we drove to the airport, the skies opened up and it poured. We didn't get to wet getting our bags off the bus, and we just took it as the sky crying because we were leaving. From what i have seen, rain doesn't hang around very long in Playa. I'm sure there are times that it does, but I haven't seen it and I don't want to. Just try to take it in stride.
