Canadian peeps....Happy Canada Day tomorrow July 1st.

Now forgive me for my ignorance, but what do you guys celebrate on Canada Day? I know there are lots of things that are great about Canada such as Vancouver, Calgary, Lake Louise, Montreal, Quebec, BEER, and of course Rissask. But what exactly does the day represent?

Hey, thanks, UGA!

Happy Canada Day!

And a shout out to all our troops fighting in Aftghanistan and peacekeeping in other areas of the world. I'll light a sparkler for them, and pray for all of their safe return home.

MOFI: Not going to the festivities, we are headed up to our friends' cabin on Shuswap lake. Should be a beautiful weekend!

Happy Canada Day from the Nation's capital (that's Ottawa, eh).
We could be in town with the official festivities and fireworks, but instead, we'll be doing that other traditional Canada Day activity, hanging out at the cottage (possibly with beer).

I bet there's some great camping to be had in Canada. I would love to come up and visit sometime. Actually I may have a chance in the near future to come to Vancouver as part of the Delta / Air Canada aircraft maintenance agreement but I would really like to see the mountainous areas too.

Vancouver is pretty close to the mountains, and is less then a days drive to banff or jasper which are between BC and AB, and then there is whistler ect.

Ginger: Shushwap is beautiful we used to go camping there every summer when I was little with a bunch of family friends, and we all had boats so we would waterski, wakeboard, kneeboard and have tube wars all day long....I miss home.

Banff is really high on my list of places to visit. From what I've seen, it looks like a bigger version of Jackson Hole, Wyoming - which is my favorite place to visit in the U.S. I've heard how the elf roam around town in Banff. Very cool.

I think he meant elk, and yes the animals roam on the roads there, you have to be careful....If you end up going that way also make sure to visit Lake Louise, it is probably the most beautiful lake i´ve ever seen.
