Royal Hacienda Del sol?

Shammy or anyone else have any information on this newest Royal Resort? I have been trying to find out more, pictures etc. but nothing much at all on the Royal Resort Website or from a google search. I heard it was opening July 1, the first phase. Would love some photos etc. of the finished resort.

Isn't it a time share? If so, I wouldn't have any info on it as I don't handle time share reservations.
But either way, I don't have any info on it.

Sheesh, now why couldn't I find that? I didn't look too hard, didn't have time to do a complete search, but ya think it would have come up?

Oh well, at least the info is posted.

Good job Vicki!

yea, I didn't see that either. Still wish they had more pics. Doesn't look to me like it would be finished from the last construction post from June 16. Maybe I will try to email them and see if they have any more updated pics, i.e., pool, beach just general photos I guess. There were only a few of the bedroom etc. but hard to really tell.

We actually own 2 week at this new royal resort. We have owned 2 other weeks at one of their resorts in Cancun for almost 18 years, so we felt this would be a great purchase for us. We will actually be staying at the royal Hacienda July 29 thru Aug 9. Their are 3 buildings out of 7 in the first phase that are completed. The pool and 1 restaraunt is open but the resort will still be under constuction. PM me if you want more info.

Just last week, Pam and I walked from Shangri-La Caribe to the area that The Royal Haciendas is located. You can see a photo journey of the walk when I complete and post our trip report in a couple of days.

This property is also one of the properties that the Royal Resorts people in Shangri-La Caribe's reception area push. Being somewhat intersted in the property, I left my email address and home address with a representative as we were about to head back to the airport. I requested pricing and other stuff.

It is true the the resort just opened the other day as we meet a couple on our flight back that told us this. They also said that it would be completed Fall of 2007. They own a week in September at this place.

Just got this info via e mail - figured I'd share it in case anyone is interested:

Cancún-based vacation ownership company, Royal Resorts, announced the July opening of its latest resort, The Royal Haciendas, located on the Riviera Maya, Mexico. The developers selected a beach and golf community five minutes to the north of district capital Playa del Carmen and 30 minutes from Cancún International Airport, to be the site of The Royal Haciendas. The Royal Haciendas will comprise two haciendas, Hacienda del Sol (Hacienda of the Sun) and Hacienda de la Luna (Hacienda of the Moon), each one a resort community with 252 villas apiece. The first phase of Hacienda del Sol has 55 villas and the entire project will be finished by 2009. All villas have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a spacious living and dining area with two Murphy beds, a fully equipped kitchen and an ocean-view terrace that is perfect for relaxing, al fresco dining and stargazing. Additional touches of luxury include flat screen TVs, DVD players, wireless Internet access, granite counter tops and a whirlpool tub for two on the terrace. The villas are available in two floor plans: the ocean-view villa (1,648 square feet) and the Penthouse and Beachfront Villa (1,722 square feet), which in addition to the aforementioned features, also has a small lounge area in the master bedroom and a larger master bathroom with closets. All villas sleep six and feature the Flexivilla concept utilized in all Royal Resorts properties, meaning that the second bedroom is a lock-off room with a kitchenette and its own separate entrance. Amenities at The Royal Haciendas include pools, floodlit tennis courts, a gym and massage service, an activity program for children and adults, kid's areas, convenience store, travel agency and car rental, as well as beachfront restaurant and poolside grill. Boutiques, specialty restaurants and a spa will be added to the resort in phase two of the project. In addition to The Royal Haciendas, the exclusive beach community will host hotels, condominiums and some private residences. It will have a Nick Price-designed 18-hole professional golf course and its own town center with restaurants, open-air cafes, bars and boutiques.

Sounds great but pricey.
