Reef Club Beach
Has anyone been to the Reef Club recently? Do they have any beach at all or are you limited to the pool area? Last time I was there the total beach area was about four feet by maybe 25 feet.
Thanks |

I was there in late April---there was less beach than before Wilma, but it has returned to some degree--plenty for everyone, plus there is an area to the side with plenty of room. There are also new this year--some of those lounging beds around the pool and on the beach. When will you be there? We're going back in August.

I'm really looking forward to the reef playcar. My boyfriend and i are also going in August 20-27. If anyone is going around that time we would love to meet up for lunch or something!!! I heard that the weather is supposed to be pretty hot down there this time of year. We are Playa virgins so we're really excited. If anyone has stayed at the Reef in the last little while any tips on how to get strong drinks or more beer in the rooms would be a great help!!!

We stayed at Reef Club a few years ago. It was awful!!! We had stayed at Iberostars prior but the price was so cheap at Reef Club we decided to just go for it and brought our daughter. You get what you pay for.....the beach was nice but the rooms were just adequate and the food was horrible. Hopefully things have changed. Good Luck!

I think that if you've stayed at some of the "mega" resorts like the Rius or Iberostars you get used to the grandness and opulence. Also the number of restaurant choices and pools. If that's what you're used to and what you want, then the Reef is not the place for you. The Reef Club is a much smaller property and in my opinion is a much more intimate experience. I've always found the service to be good and while the food could have been better at times, we've never gone hungry. Over the past few years we've noticed the quality of the food has gotten better. I've read many reports on the Reef--most good, some bad---some awful. I only can go by my experiences and after having stayed at the Reef 8 times wouldn't care to stay at any other AI.
Jeesh--do I sound like I'm on the payroll???? Go and have a great time--everyone is different and have different expectations--that's a good thing.....
