Viva Wyndham Maya Dress Code?
Ok this is my first trip to Playa del Carmen and people keep asking me what I am going to pack. Does anyone know the dress code for restaurants at/near Viva Wyndham Maya? I want to make sure I pack accordingly!

We stayed at the Viva Maya in Playa del Carmen a couple years ago. Dress code is pretty much standard - (shorts/casual wear) except for one restaurant on-premises that was "reservation only", and required jacket/tie for men, dressy-wear for women. The food was very good, and there was no additional cost for the meal.
We very much enjoyed it there, but found the room air conditioners to be inadequate. Hopefully that's been changed. They have some very good entertainment every night, and the dining area was far superior to a more upscale resort we stayed at last year. Cab fare into town was about $3.50 each way. No jackets or ties are required in the ala carte restaurants. Men must wear long pants and usually closed toe shoes - but leave the jacket and tie home! Women can wear just about anything "nice", doesn't have to be too fancy....capris, sundress, skirt, etc. Just wear what you'd wear to go to a nice (but not formal) restaurant at home.
And a cab ride into town from Playacar is $5.00 |
