The Palace Mexico is alot of money. But we have stayed at a couple other resorts in the Playacar complex and they were great, but we always found one thing or another missing. The Riu Palace Mexico is an attempt to go to a resort that lacks nothing. I will retire ( job change ) next spring after 31 years in my job, at I think a young age of 54. This could be the last time we can afford a resort like the Riu palace.

My brother and sister inlaw have been to the Riu Palace Mexico and numerous other resorts in the area and Cancun. He lights up and says he'd go back there in a heart beat. This is the only resort he's said that about. He is a very down to earth type guy and loved this upscale resort.

I also am like your better half and would prefer to wear shorts on vaction. If I can't stand the long pants any longer, we will simply eat at one of the other Riu's close by, as I believe we can go to any of them. With that in mind we will visit the new Riu Palace Riviera Maya and enjoy all it has to offer.
