Belize City day trip information?
We're landing at Belize City on a RCCL cruise late March midweek. I think we land at about 8 AM then leave about dinnertime.
I hate cruise organized shore trips and wondered how much flexibility there is from the port? Are there any fishing opportunities available during the day? If the wife and I wanted to rent mopeds or scooters, are they available? What about friendly, reasonably priced cabs? I look forward to seeing a little of Belize cuz I want to make a future trip exclusively to that country. Do AI resorts exist there? Thanks! |

Search this forum for Belize City. I think there was a recent post where people were recommending NOT to go to Belize City. I understand it's very dangerous. A search of the forum should get you the info you want.

Belize City is a good gateway to the rest of the country, but spend as little time in the city itself as you can. I'm not real familiar with the country (yet), but I do know there's some great jungle areas you can tour, as well as more Mayan ruins. Also the Cayes are great, nice beaches and excellent snorkeling and SCUBA diving.

We don't really specialize on much outside of Playa / Riviera Maya on this forum, even though sometimes we act like we know it all.
