Riu Palace Mayan Riviera Beds

We are thinking of visiting the Riu Palace Mayan Riviera. Can anyone comment on the quality of the beds? We were disappointed by the beds at the Rui Palace a couple of years ago. Thanks

Comment about what specifically?

I would think they purchased the same kind of beds for the new Palace as they have in the original Palace - just that they are newer.

If you're referring to the bed being hard - welcome to Mexico, almost all hotels beds are that way. It bothers some people, doesn't bother others.

Just not sure what kind of comment you're looking for?

Thanks. Yes, I'm referring to the hardness. It didn't bother me so much but it did my wife. Maybe we will just have to request the foam pads that I understand are available.

Yep, I'm afraid that's what the deal is. But as I said, almost all beds in MX are extraaaaaaaaaaaaaaa firm and it's difficult to escape this.

The new RPRM has king sized beds in many rooms rather than the two doubles pushed together like the RPM.

We'll be there in a few weeks and I'm sure they will be just as hard, but not bothersome as the Ib. Tucan was. By the time my head hits the pillow I'm exhausted and fall right asleep. Have fun!

Hard Beds

We will be going to the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar in a couple of weeks and we decided to take our egg crate mattress with us, makes any hard bed feel great, we just don't want to chance getting a hard mattress!

They are super firm. The first time I sat on it I thought "whoa - this is certainly not like my ultra luxurious double padded mattress back at home"....but ironically enough, it was the first time in 2 years I woke up with NO back pain. hah. go figure. (could be the numbing effects of tequila....but why go there?) lol
You'll be fine.

Our bed at home is quite firm but not quite like the Mexico beds which are kind of like sleeping on the floor. But, we sleep like logs there, as soon as my head hits the "firm" pillow I'm gone. Maybe the heat, liquor, food, activities, etc is what does it.

Mexico has that effect on.....things.
Plus being a new resort, the firmness may be even more so than say at its sister property the Riu Palace Mexico.
