Hotels North of the point?

It's been about 5 years since I've been to PDC. I usually stayed at the ******, but the last time it was too loud, construction during the day and loud music too late at night. I'm thinking of staying North of the point, can anyone tell me if there's somewhere nice and on the beach? I remember one place I think was called Palapas, but it seemed too quiet and quite expensive, even 5 years ago. Any suggestions from anyone? Thanks a lot

The only hotels north of the point or Porto Real is the Shanga-la & Las Palapas . We have stayed at the new ****** Condos since they opened in 99 , the construction is done and the music is never a problem now because of the "U" shape design of the new condos . All you here are the lapping of the waves on the sand . I think you would be impressed , we and many of our freinds are !

Shagri-La Caribe and Las Palapas are both very nice, but, as you suggest, quite pricey. We stayed at the Riviera del Sol which is in the north end of PDC at Calle 30 and 1st Avenida. It's a three minute walk down the path to the nicest beach in PDC. I would highly recommend it. You can book the Riv and other hotels through this website:
