OK, Judy, I was going to put that activity in my list, but I thought I'd leave it out for the single people... although I guess they could find a friend.
On my trip to Playa last month, it did rain for almost an entire day. Luckily, it was on our wedding anniversary, and we had plenty of activities to keep us busy. Becky |

What does "he he" mean?
I have read the responses to the weather and am also going to be visiting the first week of Feb. When James says "he he" is that good or bad? When they predict rain like this is it usually all day or just a short spurt and then sun? Boy do we need sun and warm...it is snowy and cold here and we have been dreaming of a few days of sun! Any extra info is appreciated?

People!
If you do a search on the topic "rain" or "weather" you will find this question asked and answered over and over again. You will also find that I tend to answer this question by saying "It only rains on Thursdays." The points are: 1. Weather forcasting is inaccurate at the best of times 2. Chances are that in the Caribbean you will get a lot of sun, some clouds, some wind and a little rain. 3. Whatever the forecast, your tickets are bought and paid for and you can't change them. 4. Don't worry about the ******* weather! You WILL have a great time. Sheesh. |

Seriously, just let me get away from the rat race for a while and enjoy the hospitality, I got tanning booths up here to help with the heat! You got to love the beach when there is a shower! Stefan |

OK....so all of the obvious vacation stuff....drinking, eating, shopping and the pleasures of the flesh.....all good BUT....I was wondering about those things only a local or frequent visitor would know....picking your brains regarding hidden treasures to explore on a rainy day.....??????

Well, it's raining right now. Anna is at La Ranita playing trivial pursuit and I'm here typing this.
There's a nice movie theater in town now with three screens. (I know the question is coming....so....) The movies are in English with Spanish subtitles. Mostly. Animated stuff is often dubbed, so if you've got kids, forget about showing them the latest computer generated cartoon, unless they hablan español. |

Weather is better than you might guess
I was in PDC last week with my oh-so-more-than-significant other.
1) Weather.com was way more pessimistic than it turned out, it was generally nice with a cloud here and there. 2) A little rain was nice from under a palapa, with a drink in hand 3) We found plenty to do on the few cold nights there.. just bring something warmish... or be prepared to make heat on your own.. not a problem! |
