Cool Ocean City Vacation Pics

Our footprints in the sand

</O:p
We headed “down the ocean” to our annual family vacation in Ocean City, Md on a very hot Saturday morning. We like to leave early to beat the traffic….so we were out the door at 7 am. After one quick stop for breakfast…we made great time and arrived in OC around 10 am. But we couldn’t get into our condo until 2pm. First task was to find a parking spot next to our condo building…the thing is they only allow 1 reserved spot per unit…so I (yes Mommy was the queen for the day) was lucky to find someone leaving as we were pulling up…Mack and I jumped out…stood in the spot…and just like that we scored a great spot… this was a sign that it was going to be a great week….and now the truck has found it’s home for the week. Once we park we don’t move it….it turns into our storage for all the beach chairs and toys and tent. Everything is within walking distance of where we stay…if we need to drive we take my parents car. We then started walking the boardwalk in search of our favorite pizza place…Tony’s Pizza…to get some lunch and kill some time.

Mack and Michael walking down the boardwalk

Sand sculptures along the boardwalk

<O:p
The spot of the web cam…that looks a lot more crowded at night

After getting a call from my parents that they were getting closer to arriving…they don’t leave as early as us…Mack rides with us and Marissa (who by no means could be ready to go at 7am) rides with them… we headed back up the boardwalk and started unpacking the truck…it looked like a storm on the horizon so we wanted to unload before it rained.
<O:p
Marissa patiently waiting for Mom Mom to show up with the keys (notice what she is sitting on)

</O:p
The rain came but it was a quick storm….we got settled in our condo…and decided to cook in our first night…we had picked up some corn at the Farmer’s Market on the way down…so we had hot turkey sandwiches and corn on the cob. The kids went out on the beach with their buckets and shovels and dug some holes and played for a little bit until it got dark. It had been a long day…kids were tired…and we were just opening our first bottle of wine…time to sit on the balcony and people watch.
<O:p
The view from our balcony

I will get pics of our first day at the beach up later.

Wow, pretty decent waves for OC. And, the photo of the ad for Boog Powell's Pit Beef just gave me a huge craving.

Because of the storms off the coast all week....the waves were pretty large...strong rip tides a few days too...lifeguards had their work cut out for them all week....

Have you been to Baltimore? And notice the great location of Boog's stand...right next to the famous Thrasher's Fries...always a long...long...line...but worth the wait...

What block were you staying? We'll be around 55th in a few weeks!
An enduring Maryland tradition for us (Fagars, Mackys, Fish Tales these days...), but not Playa!

I used to live in the DC area. Although I usually went to Virginia Beach, as I grew up there, I did occasionally make the trip to OC. I love Baltimore style food.

Oh Monica!!! What great memories you've conjured. Wow. Growing up in Maryland, OC being THE place to go. All the beaches up and down that area....Rehobeth, Bethany. Been watching old family movies....so I'm rather nostalgic.:p

Can't wait for the rest. So glad you guys had a good time. A week just isn't enough, is it?

Cool guys!

Hey, How's Boog's food?
Does he still cook at the baseball games once in a while?

Brings back many fond memories. The fries, caramel corn...Is that very cool Irish pub still there? How bout Frontier town? And did you get a ticket for the annual firemens raffle? The seafood buffet at Embers? OC is fantastic. We used to always get the off road permit for Assateague and fish a lot and hit the farmers market too! Sounds like a blast.

Looking forward to hearing all about the fun family trip. Looks like the waves were huge! I also liked the footprints in the sand. Would make a great Christmas card pic.

Yes very much a Md tradition but it seems it has been discovered by alot of out of staters the last few years...We were on 19th at the "Ocean Hideaway" we stayed there the last two years....the kids love Fish Tales its a new must do the last few years....and My son Mack loves Mackys great sunset on the Bay Side...but if I don't get my Thrashers frys with plenty of vinager soon after arriving Iam not happy
