Oh, they were such shy, sweet, lovely kids. No pushing, no shoving, no grabby-hands. They were patient and waited their turn. One little guy came up to me and said, very shyly and quietly (in Spanish, though I've translated it here for you), "Senora, could I please trade mine for one that has a coloring book?"

The kids were so shy they weren't even saying "gracias" at first, but once the first little one had the nerve, all the other kids started shouting, "gracias, gracias!"

Just from looking at the photos and seeing the kids running off to tell their friends (good friends ) It looks like you must have handed out about 50 bags.
That's a pretty good estimate, maybe a few more. We had a bunch of pencils and crayons left over at the end that we handed out to the "straggler" kids.

I started to say that you made my day, but I think I can honestly say that you have made this whole last year worthwhile for me by posting these pics. I knew we were all doing something good by getting all the supplies and bringing them down, but your pics have really brought it home for me. Thank you so, so much for posting them.

No, Sarah, I didn't want to do that without talking to you. There was plenty! Let's go ourselves this weekend, we can go out to one of the villages near Coba!

Heather,
You have certainly blessed our day with those incredible photographs!
Thank you SO much for going to take them. We were just talking with Sarah the other day about taking donations somewhere soon- so if you two want some more company-Randy and I would love to go, too and he said he would drive!

Heather:

I have goosebumps all over me.........

Those pics..... I'll be looking at them again and again and again.

Thank you SOOO much for not only helping organize all that stuff (cuz I know it was just all willy-nilly crammed in all those backpacks) but for handing it out AND taking the time to take all those photos.

It was one thing to drop it all off at Angel Notion. But it's another thing to see those items get into the hands of all those kiddos.

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!! God bless ya, sweetie!!! (((((HUGS))))

How absolutely wonderful, what a joy it must have been to give those kids the bags of goodies. You're a lucky girl to have had the pleasure. Good work
