It is that. I have lived on it for 40 years and wake up looking at it everyday.
Our normal camping trip is to boat up the river and find a sand bar to set up camp. Far from anything except the sound of the river and an occasional boat.

Awwwwwwww........... that sounds like heaven to me. Although I grew up close to the Cape (Cape Cod, Massachusetts), from the time I was 3 years old til I graduated from high school, we spent all summer every summer on a lake in New Hampshire - 2 adults/3 kids/1 dog in a two BR house trailer. I'll always opt for the mountains/fresh water over the New England seashore if given the choice (although the seashore is darn nice too).

It is for us
We are only 2 miles from the coastline at the mouth of that river(Rogue River) it was in the movie "The river Wild". It has alot of protected area too . Only thing about the seashore here is it is always too dam windy and cold down there

I would love to river raft...but I don't know about stopping at some remote spot to camp....makes me think of DELIVERANCE

That would be some parts of the American River, here in Calif.
