Greetings from England!!
This looks to be such a fantastic site.
Hello everyone. I'm Debbie, I live in Yorkshire, England and have signed up to this site because we are visiting Playacar on 2nd September this year for our honeymoon!! We are to be married on 18th August (11 days time - eeek!!!) and will be staying at the Riu Tequila with our 5-yr-old son. ANY info on the hotel and the area in general would be greatly appreciated. It looks great in the brochures and most reviews I have read on other sites have been positive - thankfully as it is a 12-hour flight for us Brits to stay there! I speak Spanish - I wouldn't say I am fluent but I can certainly get my way around Spain without any problems - I'm not too sure how different the Mexican language is from the Castillian that I know. Anyway, please let me have any info and advice as I would really appreciate it as we want to make this a holiday of a lifetime. In return - if anyone ever needs any info on Northern English cities and places of interest, I will happily oblige!! ![]() |

Hi Debbie,
welcome to the board and congratulations on choosing Playa for your honeymoon! ![]() For infos on the Riu Teqila you might have a look at the All Inclusive-Sub Board where you will find a lot of information. If you still have specific questions you don't find there you will certainly get answers.... Enjoy your wedding and look forward to your honeymoon, Playa is a great place to be! Don't forget to leave the resort every now and then as the area has too much to offer to just stay at the AI ![]() Andrea |

Congratulations Debbie!
Playa is fantastic! Just remember to do as Andiline said. Leave the resort now and then to explore the area. May be take one or two of the tours organized by this site. They are very good. |

You shouldn't have any problems speaking Spanish from Spain compared to Spanish spoken in Mexico.
The accents are different, some nouns are different, 'vosotros' isn't used. It's like comparing English to the English spoken in Canada, Australia or the US. Of course you'll meet some who don't speak their own language well - think Chavs in England. For the Mayan indians in this region Spanish is a second language too. |
