The beach at night

No one is answering my question in the big huge problem thread. I asked why is the beach dangerous at night? Is it dangerous as everywhere for drunken women to wander the beach alone? Or will I take a risk of being mugged while taking a romantic walk with my wife? Any comments?

Brad and I walked the beach at night at least once and had no problem. It was not a bad experiance. We did not encounter anything that would be considered "bad or dangerous"

i dont think its especially dangerous... In the central part of town you will probably be fine. The again if I am going to the beach at night, I generaly go to El Pirata beach bar. Its a cool place and the only danger is that you might enjoy too many of their drinks!

I can only describe central Playa, ferry dock to GPR, but we've walked it alot. Biggest problem might be tripping over a rope or rock. Granted this has always been done pre-midnight, might be a different story later.

We've always hung out on the beach at night in Playacar. No problems at all.

I think you've just gotta let common sense be your guide. The beaches aren't lit at night, so walking anywhere in the dark carries risks. If it's beachfront in front of hotels, etc., then you're probably fine. If it's in a more deserted area, I wouldn't recommend it.

I wouldn't walk ALONE on the beach at night but I am perfectly comfortable taking a midnight stroll with my husband. I din't think there is any more crime here than in any other tourist town. I certainly wouldn't recommend that an intoxicated woman walk by herslf anywhere at night. FYI, if you are planning for a midnight dip in the ocean be careful of your belongings on the beach. They're an easy mark.

Ummmmmm....

While I agree with the idea that walking on the beach at night is reasonably safe in pairs, I think, to be fair and accurate...

You guys should PROBABLY give a brief physical description of the husbands you were walking around with!!!

(Hint: REAL big!)

:p :p :p

Hey Michele,
That looks exactly like MY husband from behind! However, I wouldn't want him to lose the love handles...he just wouldn't be the same

You promised not to let anyone know that I have more than one husband. Great now I am going to really get it when Brad sees this. Thanks StewartG

Hey, I'm the one responsible for those "love handles" so I couldn't complain even if I wanted to!

First, I am a chica, one time I was on the beach late at night near Blue Parrot talking and walking with a man, and someone did come by and try to grab my purse. He was not successful because I got VERY loud and he just took off, so things can happen.
