Skype Users? - Page 3

We just installed Skype last night in both our laptops...Nick is in the air right now flying to Russia so this will be a good alt to using the Sat phone....Used it last night when he was in Calgary & it was very clear. I don't have a headset yet but he does....

I'm a Skype user now!...I dont' hve that many friend right now though...

We have an USB adaptor that links the landline, our regular phone set (a base and three handsets) and the computer. So basically when you get a call from outside or Skype, or SkypeIn, your regular phone rings and you can answer it. At the same time you can use your regular phone handset to call through your landline, SkypeOut (a regular phone number using Skype) or Skype any of your contacts.

The had a yearly unlimited plan to call regular # and cell phones for $14.99 a year that now is $30, so is very cheap.

Sound is good, but sometimes you get echo and sometimes connection is not 100% reliable (you have to try a couple of times).

Basically, we are canceling our landline (about $30 per month) and will have only Skype ($45 per year) and our cell phones.

Thank you to everyone for informing me about Skype.....

It is so nice to be able to talk to my hubby while he is in Russia....we have a Sat phone that is paid by his company but we don't talk too long on it...Last night we talked for over an hour on Sype...had some dropped calls but his wireless signal is pretty weak...He is in Russia in the middle of nowhere....literally!!

Ressurrecting an old thread...Thanks to Kim (Silvergirl), Tony (Teezet), and Terri (LilG), I now have Skype. This is so cool! I just finished visiting with Tony--over 5000 miles away! For Free!!! That's my favorite part! We have lots of new members out there and maybe some old ones like me who have jumped on the bandwagon in the past year.
So...does anyone else have Skype?
