New guy from Seal Beach, CA

Howzit all? I am getting married Sept. 30 and thanks to my aunt's ravings about playa (she's been 5 times) that is where we will be spending our much anticipated honeymoon.
We are booked at the Royal Porto Real from 10/01 - 10/10. Any comments, and or advice for a first time visiter would certainly be most welcome.

Thanks
BDUB

Howzit?

I like the sound of nuttin' to do. I am well-versed at that.
I consider myself a relatively seasoned beach-goer and traveler. However, I find myself particularly excited about my upcoming trip to playa (perhaps getting married the day before departure may have somthing to do with it).
I have read and internalized a good portion of the website, so any personal experiences and or insight would be an added bonus.
Thx Mucho,
bdub

Congratulations!!! Playa is a great place to honeymoon!!

Book a few things to do during your week, alternating with days of lazing on the beautiful Playa beach. Consider booking a Playa.Info tour during your week - maybe the Tulum and Beyond one (click on the Trip Planning link at the top of the page). David and I did that one last year and had a BLAST. You'll see some beautiful Mayan ruins on the coast, snorkel in a couple of awesome cenotes, and have lunch on a beautiful Tulum beach. The tours are only about a dozen peeps, so you'll feel like you're hanging out with friends, not being herded like cattle from place to place.

Take an evening and stroll 5th during the evening with no particular plans. Just stop here and there for a cocktail or two, feel the vibe, enjoy the ambiance, and relax into it. You'll be hooked and planning a return trip before you leave for home!!
