Exclamation VIDEO - Bush admits Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11

http://thinkprogress.org/2006/08/21/bush-on-911

Honestly - not trying to start a big fight or multi-page thread. I know there are many on both sides of the political spectrum on this board, and some of us enjoy keeping up with this stuff. No need to post on this thread. Just take a minute to see what "the Man" himself has to say and think about it at your leisure...

I just saw this video and I thought it was interesting. I think I remember reading somewhere that something like two thirds of the American public still think that Iraq was was involved in 9/11.

Anyway, if you're not into the political stuff, just change the channel... From now on, I will try to put a big warning triangle at the start of any thread I begin that is political, that way you won't accidentally stumble into it!

You know what, I won't argue with you there. He's not a bad looking guy. Keeps himself in good shape. Better example for the country than "Burger Bill" Clinton. Good president (IMHO) - bad eater.

Speaking of the president's physical fitness - one other thing I gotta hand him... Did y'all see the story about the Iraq veteran that lost both his legs in the war? When he came back for prosthetics and rehab, he said he wanted to jog with the president one day. About a year later, GW took some time one morning to do just that with the guy.

Good for GW, and good for that soldier. It was weird watching the TV that day about that story and actually feeling GOOD about the president.

Surprise!

Actually I am surprised he admitted it on tape.....never thought he would admit that ....guess he realized everyone else has caught on by now.....although he also says:

Quote:
Nobody’s ever suggested that the attacks of September the 11th were ordered by Iraq.

So basically he has just complely changed his story. Maroon.

I agree, it is tough for the folks that wake up every day feeling BAD about the president and country. I have friends that hate Laura because she married him.

I'm reading a book, "Autobiography of a Fat Bride" which was suggested as a good read on the "What are you reading now?" thread. (And it is, by the way, a VERY good read!)

A funny line in this regard from this book as the heroine comments on her butt just before her Playboy tryout shoot (long story) - "I've got enough lard in just one of these cheeks to make tamales for every man, woman, child, and wild dog in the state of Oaxaca!"

Just a quick note. This is not the first time Bush has admitted on video that 9-11 has nothing to do with Iraq. There is a documentary available on DVD now entitled "Why We Fight". There is a very troubling moment in it when a retired NYC detective and Vietnam vet whose son died in the WTC talks about watching video of Bush admitting Iraq had no connection to 9-11. The video clip is also in the documentary which is primarily about the military-industrial complex and its history in the US.
