My wife bought me a book on Great American Speeches. Very good read. There were some very smart people in our past. Let's see if you can figure out who's quotes these are:

1) "...Thus I consent, Sir, to this Constitution because I can expect no better, and because I am not sure that it is not the best...."

2) "...The great rule of conduct for us , in regard to foreign relations, is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible..."

3) "...Then that little man in black there, he says women can't have as much rights as men, 'cause Christ wasn't a woman! Where did your Christ come from? Where did your Christ come from? From God and a woman! Man had nothing to do with Him...."

4) "... I have learned already in this office that the difficult decisions always come to this desk..."

5) "...Freedom Leads to prosperity. Freedom replaces the ancient hatreds among the nations with comity,and peace. Freedom is the victor..."

This is Sojourner Truth, from the speech, "Ain't I a woman?" Isn't it?

Very good! I really liked that part of her speech! Sounds like the kinda woman you would like to sit on a porch swing with and share a few beers.
