Banzoomba & MsRubio's Weekend Trip Report and Pics

Okay well we were going to do a trip for our 16<SUP>th</SUP> anniversary in October but when USA 3000 came out with their great rates the trip was moved up to September. We have a lot going on here at home so a long weekend was the best we could pull off and we really needed to get away because of all that stuff going on.

We have an early flight out Thursday Morning so……we tuck the kids into bed…..tell them to be good for Mom Mom and Pop Pop ……then Monica naps on the couch while Iam to excited to sleep I hang on the forum till there are just a couple of peeps left …..could kill some time smoking a cigar on the porch but no not doing that anymore …..watch a bad late night movie on cable and then I wake Monica up at 3am and we are on the road by 3:30 and off to BWI.

First in for line check in at 4:30am ……the lady at the counter tells us she is a trainee and we are her first……..we check a bag for the first time in 6 years ….the check in bag has our toilettes and stuff we are muling down... we request a wing seat she checks with her super and says no problem…..then tells us after security we should go on to gate E-6. No big deal at security Monica’s belt set off the metal detector as does the Bumper pin on my hat …….on to gate E-6……We notice about 2/3 of the people that were in our line are at gate E-1 while the rest of us are at E-6……Monica does some math and says there were 3 people working the counter I bet the trainee gave us the wrong gate…..at the same time I notice the super from check in at E-1 and we move over……boarding started at 6:45 when Monica looked over and notice there was one couple all by themselves still over at gate E-6 ……she goes and gets them ……they thank us and say the would have probally not noticed till it was to late and missed the flight …..and this was the only flight with USA3000 today so it would have been messy.

Smooth flight… plane was very quiet we slept most of the way which made time go by very fast….or you could say fly by ….flight got in 15 mins early …got a green light and within 10 mins we were waiting for our checkin bag ……our bag was one of the last to come off and Monica was getting very anxious …. we used to laugh at the people waiting for bags as we ran by with our backpacks…..well bag finally came out and we were through the sharks and then looking for the guy with sign with our name for our ride to town…..he was not there yet ……and now the taxi guys had us surrounded and were closing in …..I left Monica with the bags as they moved in and went to check again…..ran up to the area where the ride guys were and no sign with our name yet …..ran back to Monica about 5 taxi guys had closed in on her and were offering to get us to town from anywhere from $60 to $100 …..I chased them off …..our transferr set up by Luna Blue was only $35 each way……after waiting about 15 min I asked Monica if she had any numbers we could call…. she just shook her head no because in Feb they were here when we got off the plane so she didn’t even think about it …..well 25 mins has gone by and I say to Monica lets go get the bus ……well her bottom lip puffs out and her eyes well up ….and I turn away just in time to notice our ride pull in right in front of us…..all is well and since we got in 15mins early it was not that bad….but we were very excited to get to town and savor every minute of our weekend .

In what seemed like record time we were at Luna Blue meeting Carlos… great guy with a big happy smile…. got the keys to Love Nest Room # 9 … our beach towels and Mamitas passes… climbed the steps to our room …..this is the fastest we would ever climb these steps….

I was in my suit in seconds flat as Monica laid out her bathing suits on the bed to decide which she would start with……”come on woman lets go” ……”Look go outside have a cigar and I will be ready” ……”I didn’t bring any cigars” ….then she reaches in her purse pulls out two packs … “ Iam not going to spend this whole weekend with you stressing with withdrawls and making me nuts just relax and lets have a stress free weekend okay?” :p ...who am I to fight with her she been right these first 16 years ……I go out on the deck and smoke half and put it out…..go back in and she is ready and we head for the beach.

Make it to Mamitas by noon….Lots of open space…the water is very warm….and we just kick back and chill

Nice start on the trip report Zoomba! You put me to shame with your speed at getting the trip report up there! I have been so bogged down with work and "back to school" stuff with the kids that I haven't found the time to do mine! Keep those pics coming! You both look fine!

I cant believe that you guys are back already! Yeah...time flies when you sleep on the plane but it flies even more when you're having a great time with great friends right? Nice pics of the Love Nest.

Sounds like an awesome start! For us Luna Blue 'virgins'...has anything changed there since your last stay? Is the Jacuzzi in and running yet?
I has to smile about the puffy lip and welled up eyes...I would have probably felt the same way after all the planning and excitement...then no ride! At least it ended up working out for you both.
Looking forward to reading more

Wow, you didn't waste any time with your report!!

I know just how you felt when you couldn't find your driver. We came in a half hour late last Feb. and our Luna Blue transfer wasn't there. I kept walking up and down the line of drivers. Finally I asked a guy with a sign for another small hotel in Playa and he said the guy had just left but would be back. He was right. We waited, got an overpriced Corona, and he arrived about 15 mins. later. Phew!!
