Hello From Michigan

Hi everyone! I am a long time lurker, first time poster. My husband and I are Mexico freaks! We have been to Playa/Cancun many many times. We started coming to Cancun years ago as "long weekend getaways" as just a couple. Then it turned into week long "no kids" vacations. Then one time we went to Chichenitza and climbed the pyramid...well that was it. We decided right then...at the top of the pyramid that this is something our kids needed to see. So, even though we still "steal" away for trips to Mexico without them we now also do a week long trip every year to Playa Del Carmen with the kids.This Christmas we are coming down with even more people. We are coming down with My husband's mother, his aunt and his uncle. They have never seen Mexico or that gorgeous blue water. So, thats pretty much my story. Now...for the important question:
DONDE' ESTA LA FIESTA???

Welcome to fellow Michiganders!

Now I always thought Lake Huron was about the same color as the Caribbean??? Least it looks like it up here...well summer time anyway!

Welcome. Your story sounds alot like ours. We had a group of friends that went to Vegas every year. They invited us to go one year. We were going to go with them untill Tammy (PalmtreeMaya) found out it wasn't that warm in Vegas in Feb.

We decided to head south instead. We went to Cancun for a 4 night trip. That started it. Now we've been to Mexico 14 times in 15 years. We've been staying two weeks since we've been going to Playa. (4 times) The kids have come with us twice.

I live on the shores of Lake Michigan and its great in the summer when its not frozen. We will be first timers to Playa. I just know it will be beautiful.
