Honestly Ginger,I prefer you red but the dark is a nice change for you.It will probably lighten after a few shampoos.I do have a question for you,and anyone else who cares to respond.Being a hairstylist myself it always amazes me that someone would go to an new stylist to have a major change, rather than someone who knows their hair and lifestyle. What's up with that?

A pretty lady is a pretty lady...
You recently learned of my "thing" for red hair and freckles. That being said... You could pretty much dye your hair purple and pink and still be a pretty lady! FWIW, Kelli has her "summer" color (lightish brown, blonde reddish highlights) and her "winter" color (dark brown with dark auburn highlights). She looks great with both. And yes, from what I can see, the dark colors lighten up after a few days. |

Roll with it. As someone who lives with someone who has pretty dark hair to begin with, but colors it to conceal, um, nothing at all, I can tell you the darkness will tone down and chill out. Your hair is red enough, from the pics I've seen, the the auburn highlight part will show up before long.
Besides, there's just something kind of mysterious and alluring about brunettes. Even after living with one for 8+ years. ![]() |

Yep, you just can't lose, Ginger! (or should we call you MaryAnn now??
) Your hair looks great no matter what. As Susie said, your red is a color many of us would kill for, so eventually you'll go back to that. But the brunette looks good, too. I go on Saturday for my haircut. I'm going shorter and lighter. Just highlights but in a lighter color family (last ones I got were hardly noticeable) and the baby keeps using my hair as a jungle gym, so I'm gonna go chin length, I think.... kinda nervous..... ![]() |
