What did I do??!!

Okay, praps not a dilemna to some, but it was a huge deal at my house today....

I went to a new hairdresser today. I'm pretty fussy about my hair...not much else, but my hair yes. I have quite long red hair. I decided I wanted a bold change, and wanted to try out brunette. So I went to a new girl (mine was away) and asked for dark auburn brown..what did I get? ALMOST BLACK!

I am not a very happy camper, I even cried. Kelsey said I looked Goth...

John said it will just take a little getting used to.

I am stunned by it...but praps John is right. I ALSO got a lot cut off, with layers etc. put in, so perhaps it is just that it is such a big change I have to get used to it...I'm just so used to my red hair.

So tell me honestly, what do you think? Should I leave it, or should I go back and make them fix it?

Ginger,
Peeps who have seen you in person probably would give you the best advice regarding your hair.
From your pics that I have seen and I have seen you in the braids. I thought that was an awesome look.
Do this, take another pic but with your face uncovered. This last pic you posted has your left eye covered. It is a drastic change from what you had and I have done stuff to my hair years ago. I have cried...so I know where you are coming from, I do. The layers look very nice. Long layers are a sexy look...especially when women have thick hair like your do. You can still pull your hair up, which I think would look very pretty. I keep looking at your picture and honestly, I think you look very nice. The dark hair brings out your light brown eyes. Play with some different hairstyles. If you are totally unsatisfied, then go back and see if they can rinse the color out.

Leas, you remind me of Catherine Zeta Jones with your hair like that. Doesn't color lighten with time? Leave it for awhile and see if it doesn't grow on you (no pun intended

). I bet you'll like it just fine after a bit (but go back eventually to your natural color, because the rest of us would die for that, you know...

I love it. I think it is a more updated look for you. The brown type colors always look a little dark when you first get them...like Susie said... it will lighten up over time. The layers look great..it gives you more body and movement in your hair.

I love the layers, the cut looks fantastic. I'm a little like John, the dark color would take some getting used to. It looks good on you, but personally I love your red hair! It will be fine, it will grow out and you'll either learn to love it or hate it. You have more guts than I do...it took me years to get as blonde as I am.

Honestly Leasa I think it looks fine. I am not usely one who cares too much for hair colors that are too far from original, but i think this looks just dandy

I tried a new hairdresser once for a frosting, and she basically bleached the hell out of my hair and pulled waaaaay too much hair through the cap when she did it. David's reaction: "Don't worry, honey. It'll grow."

I said, "I look like a bleached blonde SLUT!!"

David's reply, "But you're MY bleached blonde slut!!"

It eventually grew out, and I went back to my usual hairdresser after that.

(But I'll always be David's bleached blonde slut!!

I like the new look! Like the color and the layering. I also think your red hair is striking (from pictures you've posted), so it looks like you can't really lose! Hope you're getting used to the change by now.
