New to the Playa gang

I didn't expect to find this large Playa gang when I started my research. What excellent fortune to find it before we leave. I'm in Asheville, NC....weather is getting chilly here. BUT We are arriving in Playa Tues. morning and CAN NOT WAIT . I'm even more excited about it after finding this site and perusing the forums. All information on this site is more than I had hoped to find and amazingly helpful. I was in the Yucatan in 1980 - Palenque, Campeche to Merida, Isla Mujeres, and on to Chichen Itza by way of ??? Play del Carmen? Can't remember and can't find my diary yet. Anyway, it was dumb luck that I picked this little spot on the earth to go to and I have the feeling that I've made out like a bandit!
Thanks to all for putting your thoughts and experiences here. I haven't had REAL "authentic Mexican" food in ages and that section of the website and your recommendations are a tremendous bonus!!! Sun and fun, here we come!!!

I saw that as I've been dashing all over the site. But I hadn't stopped to look at it yet. Will check it out. Thanks!

Asheville is a cool place. Love the Biltmore estate, the mountains, weather etc.

Thanks! I've learned so much already, I can tell I'll need several trips to experience everything people said to be sure to do.

We do love it here. By the way, I read your trip report yesterday and absolutely loved it! Thanks for the laughs and the helpful insights. You're pic's of the warm sun and blue sea gave me chills and not because I was already freezing here in my house!! Tuesday can't get here fast enough.
