I think we should use Starbutts (sic) as an economic indicator, when they start closing…. you know the economy is going south!!!

If you had asked me 5 years ago, I would have told you that if they build a Starbucks, I will move. Now, I don't care. If people want to buy a 10 peso cup of coffee for 50 pesos, that is their choice. I'll stick to brewing my own and throwing some LaLa into it.

I go to Starbucks about 4 times a year for the vanilla frap.
I can live without it due to the high cost!

Well, I have yet to find a good coffee in Playa, so Starbuck's is as good as anything else. I think their espresso is pretty good -- not the best, but ...

More important, I have yet to find a cup of coffee in Playa for sale before 6 am, so that MAY be a benefit to Starbuck's there, if they keep a schedule similar to our local SB in the states.

A chi-chi coffee salon opened near us, and they make an excellent cup of coffee. They have an Italian coffee machine, I think the brand James recommends -- Lavazza? Tassa? Something like that.

You know....I've gotten tot he point where I really look FORWARD to the coffee in Mexico. I'll most likely still pick up my joe at the usual places, depending on where I am when the thought occurs - the folks at Cafe Corazon are super friendly and we'll be there mornings this next trip as well.

Sure glad the everyday Playa folks can get their Starbucks fix on though.

It's not even good tasting coffee. AND it's expensive.

It appears that they have, somehow, managed to convince the majority of North Dallas that they really do need to spend a sizeable amount of their hard earned income on Starbucks products at least once a day.

In Plano there must be a Starbucks every 3 miles or so.

I have to admit - even I have been in a Starbucks store and drive thru a few times (it's my girlfriends fault).

I'd be really interested to know just how much the "average Starbucks fan" spends on an annual basis.

There's so much better things to spend the money on. Like margaritas in Playa.

I'm with you Paul- you can't swing a dead cat here in the Northeast without hitting a Starbucks. The coffee is overpriced, is often burned and some of it is so strong I get the jitters halfway through the cup.

I'll take Java Joe's or the Coffee Press any day over Starbucks.

Don't care, I don't drink coffee and I can't see myself enjoying a hot chocolate in the heat of the day.

I too live in the land of Starbucks and there are other coffee houses I prefer here....Seattles Best or Tulleys. And I love good coffee in Mexico so I'll stick with real coffee there and let Starbucks make their $$ off someone else.
