Does music really cause violent acts?

Was watching Bowling for Columbine again and people were blaming this tragedy on the music of Marilyn Manson that the two young men listened to....I mean I have listened to some pretty off the wall music and it never has made me want to kill anyone or commit violent acts......

Like i have said before, it just seems that there is something or somebody to blame for everything that is done today Its never there fault.

Rick's Home Page features the daughter of young people we know - they babysat for our son back when Amy was a college student.

Amy did silly stuff, like take her daughter to multiple RS concerts from babyhood on up.

I just dont believe that it does for some one who is strong and confident...but you never know how impressionable some mixed up insecure teenager is (who has emotional issues on top of that) going to take it all in.

I agree....To blame something like that on music is just nuts....I mean I kind of remember hearing some music of the sixties having subliminal messages....Devil, kill, blah, blah, blah.....

Wasn't Judas Priest brought up on charges of aiding and inciting a young male to suicide through the message(s) in their music...actual trial ensued?

I used to listen to Psycho Killer over and over and over and over and over again, and I turned out perfectly normal and haven't stalked and killed large groups of people gathered inn a public space yet
