Fiesta Mexicana Winnipeg Peep Meet - October 14, 2006

Winnipeg Fiesta Mexicana
Peep Meet

Well, at the rate the leaves are falling, can you-know-what be far behind? (We’re not using the “S” word yet!) Here’s a chance for the Peeps of Winnipeg and surrounding areas to meet up before you have to be sure to plug your car in when visiting for more than half an hour. Before concerns about making sure the shovels and traction mats are in the car become an issue. An opportunity to finally meet the real fake friends you’ve made through hanging out on PlayaInfo. Spin tales of your trips to Playa, bring picture to share, ask questions of some of the oldtimers, show off your scars. See if folks are the same in person, as they are in that other reality of the forum.

WHEN?
Saturday, October 14, 2006
4:00ish - ????

WHAT?
A chance for the Peeps of Southern Manitoba and other points to get together.
Come join us for a few refreshments, some food, and some fellowship.

WHERE?

Casa Bumper
46 Riley Crescent
Winnipeg (PM for precise directions)
(We’ve got a patio, a sunroom and a rec room. Weather will determine the venue.)

WHO?
Whoever wants to show up. The invitation is extended to any of our globe-trotting chums from
North Dakota, Minnesota, Saskatchewan or Ontario, who feel like a little drive as well.

WHY?

E-r-r-r-r-r.....why not?

Your Hosts

The Bumpers & YWGDon&Deb

The Menu?

A Welcoming Handcrafted Margarita On The Rocks and/or Sangria
Appetizers with a Mexican flair
The Finest In Mexican Cuisine
Plonk from the Chateau de Bumper Cellars (Brown paper bags available)

The Cost?

$5 a head, and bring your own booze.
(Usual mixers supplied, but if you want something weird....bring it yourself.)

We’d prefer to keep this as casual as possible, but we’ll have to know how much water to put in the soup.
So we’d ask that you give us an indication that you’ll be making an appearance.

Who’s Showing Up?
The Bumpers (Bob & Jackie)
YWG Don & Deb (Don & Deb - go figure!)
The Jmacs (Glenn & Jackie) and kids maybe
Lady Di
Zelda & Mr. Zelda
The Parkin Party (Several)
MN Annie & Bob
Peter & Shannon
Mr. & Mrs. Sunco (Eva & Victor)
How about you?

We're thinking about it. We haven't been to Winnipeg since 1979. By then, we should have a new grand-nephew in Grand Forks to visit, too

You betcha'. We're just off Pembina Highway in South Winnipeg. Lots of hotels and motels close by. The Holiday Inn South is about a 2 minute drive away and there's several more nearby, like a Canad Inn (used to be a Ramada), a Super 8, the Holiday Inn Astoria - a bit farther South, a Comfort Inn. Let us know if we can get you information on anything. We'd love to have you join us if you're in the neighbourhood.

JMac, I remember meeting you on the street after the parade. I think you had to get home for hockey games.

Bumper, thanks for all the hotel ideas. I'll check them all out!

That was me, that's why I'm missing the celebrations this year because the kids are coming with us & can't be arriving just in time for Provincials, just a little too tired. Oh well, we'll have our own celebrations, always do!!!!

I'll have to pass this info along to Brent Parkin and his lady Laura, and some other Winnipeg peeps I know.

Hey Bump, if I'd be allowed to include a weekend in a business trip I would come over and go to New York from there... unfortunately our travel guidelines are very restrictive...

They'd be welcome. Wouldn't even ask Brent to bring his guitar, though I can't imagine he goes far without it.

Bummer! Any time you can make it here, Andrea, we'll organize another one. (I recommend you avoid January and February though... B-r-r-r-r! That's why we leave!)
