Ban on liquids in planes loosened
just read that the US authorities have loosened the ban on liquids on planes. Don't have an english source but Duty Free stuff seems to be allowed now and small doses of gel, creme, toothpaste and stuff like that...

Well that was probably a good idea considering that the so calle "Liquid Bombers" couldn't even figure out how to make a bomb let alone actually plan an attack on a plane

you can carry creams, lotions, gels, etc in 3oz sizes or less, and must be in a clear plastic bag. They will be screened at security and returned to you... ...as long as it's not a bomb. |

Duty free items are permitted if delivered directly onto the aircraft. However, passengers making connections from international to domestic flights must transfer the items to their checked bag before boarding their flight. At pre-clearance airports passengers must put duty free items into their checked luggage since the aircraft deplanes behind passenger security checkpoints. Please note: Duty free policies differ by airport. For additional information on duty free, please contact your airport directly. |

If the TSA was asking for every liquid passing through security to have been purchased at the airport they would need to have people show receipts. I’m sure that requirement would be fairly clear on the TSA website. And think what a hassle that would be! I’d say the TSA announcement trumps ABC. Some liquids are allowed provided all the containers fit in your ziplock bag. ……but anyone that wants to bring Jell-O's, Pudding or Whipped cream will have to check them as they are still on the prohibited list (unlike sharp pointed scissors which you can bring in your carry on). |

When i flew back to England on wednesday from Canun they didn't even ask me if i was carrying any liquids or gels, i took a lighter through no problem. On the way out i was only allowed stuff i bought in duty free but it seems to be back to normal now. Don't quote me on that though..........
